The Challenge

  • Underfloor air distribution that meets the diverse needs of the interior zones while covering the higher heat loss levels found in the perimeter zones.

  • Stringent sound requirements laid out in the contract documents required the equipment to pass sound performance testing by a third party testing agency.

  • A tight project timeline that required detailed coordination with the construction manager and installing contractor to manage factory loading and the needs of the project schedule.

The Solution

  • 52 dual path air handling units located on the floor being served, distributing air to both the overhead and underfloor systems.

  • A single unit can provide cooling for the underfloor system while utilizing the same footprint to serve the overhead heating and cooling needs of the perimeter zone.

  • Dual path units allow for all equipment to be located in the mechanical room rather than underfloor for easy access and maintenance.

  • All AHUs utilize Fanwall Technology to accomplish redundancy and meet the sound and tight space requirements.

  • Greenheck Fans, AMCA certified to meet the stringent sound requirements.

  • Quiet & durable Nailor VAV/Fan Coil Units and floor diffusers provided the air distribution needed to make the interior and exterior zones comfortable simultaneously.

The Results

Vyron provided Temtrol, Nailor and Greenheck products that were able to meet the schedule demands, unit sound performance, and efficient utilization of equipment footprint, helping the project team meet the expectations of the end user. The required factory tests were preformed to prove the ability to meet the stringent noise and airflow requirements.
